Kodali Venkateswara Rao was born in the month of August 1949 at Repalle. My first guru is Niraghaatam Sri Rama Krishna Sastry. Venkateswara Rao after passing Degree obtained Diploma in both Vocal and Violin in Carnatic Music at Maha Raja Music College, Vijayanagaram.
Venkateswara Rao, stood first in the Akashvani Music Competitions conducted at the National level in 1970.
In 1982, he was selected under the "Young talented artist Scheme" of the Andhra Pradesh Sangita Academy and has given concerts organized by the State Govt. in many reputed Sabhas. So far, he has given thousands of concerts in and around Andhra Pradesh in reputed sabhas and Various places.

Venkateswara Rao has given vocal concerts during Tirupathi Brahmotsavam, Samarlakota Thyagaraja Aradhana Celebrations, Bhadrachalam Vaggeyakarotsawams and in pilgrims concerts Kalahasthi, Simhachalam, Annavaram, Yadagirigutta, Brahmamgari Matham etc...
Venkateswara Rao selected as Vocal Artist In Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Annamacharya Project in 2008. Now he is working with Amrutha Varshini Cultural Wing in Gachibowli Infosys Software Campus, Hyderabad & giving training for Carnatic Classical Music for all the countries of people at Infosys.

• Awarded " Rajita Veena" on Securing first prize in AIR National Competitions 1970.
• Awarded the title "Ganakala Ratna" in 1997 from UNESCO Club, Repalle.
• Awarded the title "Ganakala Prapoorna" in 1998 by the Ghantasala Kala Peetham, Machilipatnam.
• Felicitated by the Thyagaraja Kala Samithi, Cherukuru in 2001.
• Received Best Teacher Award in 2004 by the Education Department, A.P.
